China’s Heavy Machinery Sales Increase in 2007

China had 2,747 heavy machinery enterprises in 2007, with their total industrial output value and sales income rising by 33.39% and 33.83% year-on-year respectively to RMB369.031bn and RMB357.3bn. In the year, the industry produced 436,500t of metal smelting equipment, 491,100t of metal rolling equipment, 150,800t of forklifts and 3.5144 million units of retarders, up by 26.1%, 27.17%, 41.14% and 21.42% year-on-year, while the output of cast steel and metal forging stood at 2.7818mt and 1.2024mt respectively.
