One of the most traditional trade fairs of Alcantara Machado and the principal event connected with the sector in Latin America, MACÂNICA was launched in 1959 during the industrial development run unleashed by the JK government. Since 1992, the number of Brazilian and international exhibitors increased 120%. In 2004, the event opened with 1,845 exhibitors, from 33 countries, and received 112,136 buyers from 38 countries. At the next edition, exhibitors and buyers are expected to increase by 10% and 15% respectively.
The International Machinery and Industrial Supplies Trade Fair encompasses practically all the sectors of the machinery and equipment sectors such as: industrial valves; hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial automation; machine-tools; mechanical transmission; pumps and motor pumps; industrial compressors; industrial furnaces and ovens; projects and heavy equipment; machines and accessories for the plastic industry; machines for the food and pharmaceutical industries and industrial refrigeration; equipment for material handling and logistics; for sanitation and environment; and for quality control and measurement tests, apart from tools, welding and surface treatment.
